Six Weeks

Kayla turned 6 weeks old on Friday. She has been smiling a lot more lately (must be happy with her parents) and is becoming rather vocal at times - making cute baby noises in addition to the screaming. She is up to about 10 pounds now but likes to burn off lots of calories by constantly having her hands and feet in motion. Daddy has been kicked at least 6,350 times when holding her.

Happy Easter!!!

On Sunday, we all dressed up for Easter, went to church and then Grandma's. Kayla slept through the whole service - even though the music was louder than a rock concert. At grandma's, Kayla had her picture taken with her cousins Tiara and Emry. Immediately after the pictures were done, Emry decided to do a headfirst dive off the couch onto the floor. Emry was not too happy at the time but quickly recovered.

Earlier in the week, LeAnne babysat Kayla on Thursday night so Dad could take Mom out for her birthday. Although we didn't know at the time, our friends in the Twin Cities, Paul & Julie, welcomed their 2nd child into the world. Alexander Paul Mattson was born at 11:59 PM, just in time to share a birthday with Lynda. On Saturday, Mom & Dad drove out to Johnson Creek with Grandma Ferris for a baby clothes shopping spree - Kayla was completely spoiled of course.

Week 5 Adventures

Kayla has had a pretty exciting week so far (well, at least for a one month old child it's exciting). On Sunday, Kayla went down to the square to see the St. Patrick's Day Parade - not quite as exciting as the Chicago Parade but much less crowded. After the parade she had her first visit to Grandma Ferris' house. Grandma and Aunt Tricia babysat while mom & dad went out shopping - mom just barely survived her first time away from Kayla. On Tuesday night, Kayla rolled over for the first time from her stomach to her back and tonight after dad got home from work we took Kayla on her first walk around the neighborhood.

Four Weeks

Kayla is four weeks old today! She weighed in at approximately 9 lb 4 oz this morning. Grandma Czar lost a bet and had to buy Kayla an adorable Easter dress. These pictures are the best of the 72,851 pictures we took of her in the dress :)

Welcome Grandpa

Lynda's parents recently arrived in town and it was the first time Grandpa Czar met Kayla in person. As you can see in the pictures, it didn't take very long for Kayla to win over Grandpa's heart. As an update to my last post, Kayla has been sleeping very well ever since I put her screaming picture on the blog. Apparently she was offended and, like her mother, she had to be stubborn and prove me wrong :) Hey, whatever works.

A Long Night

Kayla was so upset that daddy's high school lost in the Wisconsin Div I Basketball Championship last night that she decided to keep mom and dad up all night. This is the third time they have finished second in the past 5 years. If they hadn't won it all 3 years ago, they would be the Buffalo Bills of WI state basketball. Anyway, we saw a lot of Kayla looking like she does in this picture until about 4 am last night. Then when we woke her up this morning she had the nerve to look all cute and happy like nothing ever happened.

3 Weeks Old

Kayla turned 3 weeks old today! She celebrated by drinking her first bottle of milk from Daddy - after some initial screaming and excessive drooling, she figured it out and drank all the milk! Mommy is excited that she might be able to get some feeding relief now. In the last picture Kayla decided to do her best Frankenbaby imitation. Not sure what she was doing there but it was really cute.
