40th Anniversary Cookout

The day after Grandma & Grandpa Czar's 40th anniversary party there was a cookout for the out of town guests. Kayla enjoyed spending time with and getting attention from all her extended family. She was extra fascinated with the beads on great aunt Margot's shirt. The third picture is with her 1st cousin once removed (I think) Julie, from Dayton.

40th Anniversary Party

Saturday was Grandma & Grandpa Czar's 40th wedding anniversary. They booked a room at Bucci's and celebrated with about 30 of their close friends and relatives. Mommy was busy beforehand as she made the beautiful (and yummy) cake for the party and put together a slideshow with music to entertain the guests at the party. The party went well as the food was great and all the guests seemed to have a good time. Thanks to Uncle Bryan, the "official photographer" for donating several of these pictures.

Cleveland Zoo

Last week we headed out to Cleveland for Grandma and Grandpa Czar's 40th wedding anniversary. Lynda flew out with Kayla on Tuesday and Mike flew out on Thursday. Daddy took Kayla to the Cleveland Zoo on Friday while Mommy was busy making the cake for the anniversary party. It was very warm but Daddy and Kayla had a great time at the zoo. Kayla's favorite parts were the inside exhibits where she was allowed to run around and Daddy's favorite part was seeing the Tiger actually walking around instead of hiding or sleeping like they usually do.

Playing in the Park

On Friday afternoon LeAnne came over to our house with Emry so he could play with Kayla. Everyone walked over to the park and daddy met up there later after sneaking out of work early (it had been a long week). Kayla is still pretty freaked out about swinging by herself but she was okay going on the tire swing with someone else.

Sandbox

Kayla playing in her new Crabbie sandbox for the first time. Yes, she is eating sand in the first picture - yummy!

Easter Sunday

On Easter Sunday we started out by taking Kayla to the longest church service ever! It lasted about 90 minutes and somehow Kayla survived. The highlight was when Kayla randomly growled like a lion in the middle of the service. After church we headed over to Grandma Ferris' house for an Easter meal and egg hunt with Grandma and Tricia & her kids. Kayla had a great time, mostly cause she was able to walk around the yard for what seemed like 3 hours straight. Kayla's cousin Emry was more into the egg hunt so he found most of the eggs but was generous enough to share his bounty with Kayla.

Girls Day

On Saturday, our friends Kori and Dave visited with their 19-month old daughter Addison. We met them for lunch and then came back to our house where Kayla and Addison played in the ball pit, wrestled each other, and generally caused trouble. Addison even tried to wear her mommy's shoes at one point (most adult females aren't even capable of walking in those things without breaking an ankle).

Minneapolis

Since we were heading up to Minneapolis to watch the hockey tournament we spent the weekend at our good friends Paul & Julie's house. Kayla had a lot of fun playing with their kids Anna and Alex and really enjoyed playing with the 7,000 toys they had :) Mom & Dad enjoyed being able to spend time with their friends who they don't get to see too often. When we weren't heading off to watch hockey we spent some time at the Mall of America and took the kids to the aquarium at the mall.

Go Redhawks!!!

Last weekend we drove up to Minneapolis to watch Miami (Ohio) play in the West Regional of the NCAA Hockey Tournament. We're certainly glad we made the trip since Miami won both of their games against Denver and Minn-Duluth to win the regional and move on to the Frozen Four in a couple of weeks! It is the first time Miami has made the final four in any sport ever so we were fortunate to be there. Kayla did really well at the games, especially considering how late we kept her up the second night (oops!). Unfortunately we won't be making the trip to DC to see the Frozen Four but we will definitely be cheering for Miami on TV.

Kayla's Favorite Game

Now that Kayla has figured out walking that is all she wants to do. One of her favorite games is to walk all over the house while Daddy chases after her. She thinks it's hilarious as you can see from the video. Daddy thinks it's very exhausting but worth it.

Miscellaneous March Pictures

These are some random pictures of Kayla during March. Picture 1 - She mastered the art of climbing onto her ride-along but not always in the correct direction. Picture 2 - When she is a teenager she will hate us for this one. She was very tired and had just finished eating bananas and rubbing them through her hair :) Pictures 3 & 4 - Kayla walking around the house, likely trying to cause trouble. Picture 5 - She is apparently a big fan of rolls of wrapping paper...
