First Trip to the Zoo

On Sunday the weather was perfect so we took Kayla to the free zoo in Madison. Even though she's not old enough to appreciate the animals, mom and dad had fun with her. You can tell how much Kayla enjoyed it by looking at the pictures (note that she's got the wingspan of an American Kestrel). Amazingly, she looks just like a prairie dog in one of the pictures. Later that day, we ate outside and Kayla was chilling out on the deck.

I survived :)

Kayla did great at the doctor's office. She got 3 shots and although she obviously did some good screaming while the shots were being done, she was great afterwards. No ill effects other than maybe being a little more tired than usual. She is 10 lbs 10 oz and just under 23 inches long - both in about the average range for babies her age. Mom and baby celebrated surviving the shots by dressing her up in her pretty sandals and bow.

Two Months Old

Kayla is 2 months old today. She is enjoying the new books she got this past weeekend that mom has been reading to her at night. I'm sure she understands every word. Tomorrow she goes in for her 2-month shots so I'm sure I will creating another post in the next couple days about her screaming a lot...

8 Weeks

Kayla turned 8 weeks old on Friday. She's a little over 10.5 pounds and about 23" long. Early in the week she got a lot of "exercise" and got to check out the neighborhood as we took advantage of the great weather and went on a lot of walks. She seems to be figuring out her bouncer a little bit more which is giving mom and dad a little more time to eat their dinner in peace. She is still smiling a lot (no it's not gas) although she recently also learned to scream even louder. This coming Wednesday is her two month doctor appt so we'll see how much she enjoys her booster shots.

Kayla helps her daddy celebrate his new job as the Modeling & Risk Management Staff Actuary. Those actuaries sure know how to party!
