Madison Children's Museum

On the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend is was sweltering hot (at least it felt that way) so we opted for an inside activity and headed to the Children's Museum. It was the first time any of us had ever been there. Kayla was a big fan of the drums and the gardens but was not a huge fan of the giant fish - not sure if you can see the fear in her eyes in the fish picture...

I like the feets!

Kayla has developed an obsession with shoes. She likes to try on mommy and daddy's shoes and even likes to wear flip-flops as bracelets or use her shoes as gloves sometimes. Now whenever she wants to go outside (which is always) she will grab a shoe and give it to mommy or daddy as a subtle hint.

Backyard Beach

We got Kayla a little water thingy (I can't think of a better word) for the backyard. You hook up the hose and it fills with water and creates little sprinklers everywhere. We had an unseasonably hot day this past week so we set it up for Kayla to play in. Kayla enjoyed standing in it and playing with the sprinklers. Maybe if Daddy can rig the outside water to be a bit warmer she be more likely to dive in and explore it more. As you see in the first picture she also found an alternate use for the stars that came with it :)

Blowing Bubbles

One of Kayla's favorite words to say is buh-ble and we just got a new bubble blower as a belated 1st birthday gift so we took Kayla outside for some bubble blowing fun (plus Mommy has a bubble obsession...).

Track Meet

Last Saturday while Mommy was out on a girls' shopping trip, Daddy took Kayla to her cousin Tiara's track meet. Kayla had fun running on the track before the races began but unfortunately it was really windy so Daddy had to put her in the stroller so she didn't blow away. Tiara competed in the long jump, 100M, and 200M.

Random Entertainment

These are a few pictures of how Kayla has been entertaining herself over the past few weeks. She has found a good use for her stackable rings and an interesting use for her bucket (no Daddy did NOT put the bucket on her head). She also enjoyed exploring her new tent for camping and really enjoys "helping" Mommy fold the laundry.
