The Joy of Professional Pictures

We took Kayla in for some professional 3-month pictures on Sunday and of course she refused to smile. We got a couple good pictures but overall it was not a great experience. However we did get some nice pictures later in the day at home. On Thursday, we will be heading out to Cleveland for Kayla's first road trip to see Grandma & Grandpa Czar. It will be her first time meeting uncle Bryan and many other friends & family from the Cleveland area. Hopefully she will enjoy spending several hours in the car. I'm sure we'll have plenty of pictures to share when we get back.

3 Months Old

Kayla turned 3 months old on Friday. She is very vocal these days and speaks her own silly gurgly language. We have no idea what she is saying but it is completely adorable. She enjoyed her Mommy's first Mother's Day on Sunday and made her a pretty card with no help at all from Daddy... Mommy thought it would be fun to make Kayla into her Mother's Day present in the 2nd picture above. In other news Kayla has been working hard at pushing herself up during tummy time and is getting pretty good at it. She also went to her first softball game on Thursday night but unfortunately she saw Daddy and Uncle Bob lose a heartbreaker in 10 innings.

Visitors Weekend

Kayla met some new friends this weekend. First our friends Kori and Dave came over on Saturday with their 8-month old daughter Addison. Addison really enjoyed trying to eat all of Kayla's toys. Unfortunately we were idiots and forgot to take pictures of the two girls together :( You can always look at Kayla and then follow the link to Kori and Dave's blog to see Addison and just imagine them together.

On Sunday, our friends Adam and Jenny came over with their 4-month old son Simon. In a crazy coincidence, Simon was wearing the "boy version" of the exact outfit that Kayla was wearing. Kayla and Simon got to go on a walk around the neighborhood, including some stroller offroading. At picture time Simon was putting on a show for us.

Crazylegs

Kayla experienced her first Crazylegs on Saturday. The weather was less than spectacular as you can tell by how much everyone is bundled up. There were about 17,000 runners and walkers that participated in the annual trek from the state capitol to the 50-yard line at Camp Randall. Kayla "walked" with mom, grandma Ferris, aunt Tricia, cousin Emry, second cousin Kristina, and great aunt Pam while daddy ran and her cousin Tiara walked with a group from her school. Afterward, we had some family & friends over for a cookout. Daddy had fun trying to grill on the deck in the 50 mph winds. Pictured holding Kayla is our friend Donny, who we used to work with in Milwaukee.
