On Saturday it was finally time for Kayla to see her first Badger Hockey game!!! Kayla was decked out in her mini Wisconsin hockey jersey and was ready to cheer on the Badgers with Grandpa Ferris, LeAnne, Bob, and Tiara. We first had dinner downtown and Kayla was crazy happy in her high chair (this is very unusual). She was also acting goofy and giggling a lot on the walk from dinner to the hockey game. Once we arrived at the Kohl center for the game, Kayla was calmer but was very well behaved the whole game. The only bad part of the night was that the Badgers played horribly and lost to their archrivals - the evil gophers. Fortunately the Badgers scored a couple goals so daddy was able to teach Kayla how to sieve the opposing goalie and she also got her first taste of Babcock Hall ice cream at the game.

Fall Festival
On Sunday we went to Eugster's Fall Festival in Stoughton with grandma Ferris, Tricia and her kids. We went through a couple corn mazes - the first was really easy and took about 5 minutes, the second was ginormous and we walked around for a while and ended up coming back out the entrance since we got twisted around. Good enough! After relaxing and getting some snacks, we took the tractor-pulled wagon ride out to the pumpkin patch where mommy helped Kayla pick out her very own pumpkin.

Halloween Party
Kayla had her first Halloween party this weekend. We had 9 kids over at our house for a couple hours of chaos. The party was a success as the house is still in one piece, all the kids got along pretty well, and we had no major incidents or casualties :) I'm sure all the parents had a great time after leaving with their kids all loaded up on sugar. Kayla was an orange and black witch for the party. We also had a spider, a spider queen, a monkey, a couple of Sleeping Beauties, a lobster, Dorothy (Wiz of Oz), and an army girl.
The centerpiece of the goodies at the party was a magnificent castle cake that Lynda spent most of the day Friday preparing. It tasted as good as it looked.

8 Months
Kayla turned 8 months old today! She appears to be on the verge of starting to crawl and still no teeth. She has started talking nonsense and likes to say mamamamamamama - I think mommy has been brainwashing her while I am at work ;) She has also been giggling a lot lately and lunging at mommy and daddy.
This past weekend, LeAnne was feeling Kayla withdrawal so we had dinner with Grandpa and LeAnne on Friday night. On Sunday, we headed over to our friends Amy & Kelly's house and Kayla had fun playing with their kids Isabelle and Joey - they had TONS of toys to share with her.
During the week so far Kayla has enjoyed attacking mommy on the floor and just learned a new talent tonight (see video, you have to turn the volume way up to hear).

End of Summer
Well, unfortunately Summer is over - the nice thing is that we haven't had a million things to do every weekend. However that gives us less excuses to take more pictures of Kayla ;) These are a few random cute pictures from the last couple of weeks. Not even her cute Badger cheerleader outfit could save the football team from blowing another game. I guess it's time to throw on her Badger hockey jersey and teach her to sieve the opposing goalie (sorry Grandpa Ferris but it has to be done). We have a lot to do again over the next few weeks so hopefully I'll be posting pictures more frequently!
