Xmas in Cleveland

After a long drive out to Cleveland the day after Xmas we opened presents again with Grandma & Grandpa Czar and uncle Bryan. Kayla's favorite present of the night was definitely the pots and pans set she received from Grandma. She was cooking food for us all night, and much of the week after. Kayla also enjoyed digging into another stocking full of goodies.

Xmas in Madison

After staying overnight at Grandma's on Xmas Eve, we woke up to find a ridiculous amount of presents "under" the tree. I think about 80% of all the presents were for Kayla or her cousin Emry. Some of Kayla's favorite presents were her Abby Cadabby wand, her power drill and dump truck, and of course the new tricycle (that unfortunately she hasn't been able to ride much in the Winter). Not pictured was the tea set that she used to serve everyone tea all day.

Xmas Eve

Since we were going to be at Grandma's on Christmas morning we had Kayla open a stocking at our house on Xmas Eve morning. Her little arms could barely reach to the bottom of the stocking. At night we had dinner and presents with Grandma Ferris' side of the family. It was very chaotic with 3 toddlers (Kayla, Emry, 2nd cousin Dexter) running around. We did manage to get them all together for some Ring Around the Rosey.

Kayla's Little Sister

On December 14th, we had the big 20 week ultrasound to find out the sex of Kayla's future sibling. She is going to have a little sister! Looks like Daddy will be outnumbered but he is okay with that since he is such a sucker for the little girl he already has. He just needs to not think about how the teenage years will go... The one problem we have is that we don't have another girl name picked out yet but hopefully 20 more weeks will be enough time to figure that out. I guess we also need to figure out what to name the blog when we are posting updates about two little beauties.

American Family Holiday Breakfast - Part II

American Family Holiday Breakfast

We took Kayla to the annual holiday breakfast at American Family again this year. She wasn't a big fan of Santa although at least she didn't start screaming or freaking out. She did however really like Frosty and gave him several hugs.

First Snow

We finally had our first real snowfall in early December. It was less than half an inch but still plenty of snow for Kayla and Daddy to play in. We made snow angels and snowballs although Kayla just liked stepping on the snow balls to squish them.

Decorating the Xmas Tree

We all had a great time decorating the Xmas tree this year. Kayla really liked helping put up the ornaments and so far has been really good about not yanking them down. She also loves the choo choo train that we set up around the tree. It felt like a really special moment decorating the tree with our little girl for the first time :-)

Getting the Xmas Tree

We went out to a Xmas tree farm out in Middleton with Grandma, Tiara, and Emry to get our tree for the year. We finally found our tree after walking for what seemed like miles. It wasn't very enjoyable to dragging it back to the car but we did get it home in good shape. The tree ended up being too tall for our dining room but after chopping some extra off the top and bottom we managed to get it set up and it looked great!

Thanksgiving

Pictures from Thanksgiving dinners at Grandma's house and our house. Yes, that is Kayla mid wipeout in the last picture. Fortunately it was a funny wipeout and not a painful one.

Sesame Street Live

Daddy and Kayla had a nice father/daughter day going to see Sesame Street Live. Kayla enjoyed most of it and really liked jumping around in the aisle until the mean old usher put an end to it. Kayla also like the intermission when Daddy bought her a soccer ball that she kicked all over the coliseum concourse.
