Hanging Out with Friends in Milwaukee

After meeting our friends at the zoo, we had dinner at the Cheesecake Factory and then stayed over at their new house for the first time. Kayla enjoyed playing with Simon, as well as their dog Casey.

Milwaukee Zoo

We took Kayla out to the Milwaukee Zoo to meet our friends Adam & Jenny and their little guy Simon. The highlight for Daddy was discovering they still had Mold-a-rama machines at the zoo :)

Olbrich Botanical Gardens

We took Kayla to the botanical gardens to see the butterfly exhibit. She wasn't all that thrilled with the butterflies but had a lot of fun running around the rest of the gardens.

Cabin on Big Devil's Lake

Various pictures from our trip up to Grandma & Grandpa Czar's cabin on Big Devil's Lake (between Rice Lake and Spooner, WI). Kayla really enjoyed playing in the water down at the lake. Notice there are no pictures from the Rice Lake fireworks on the 4th. Kayla was not a big fan of the extremely loud booms that came with the fireworks so we left early - maybe next year...

Pattison State Park

We went up to Grandma and Grandpa Czar's cabin during the week leading up to the 4th. The weather started out pretty lousy but improved greatly during the week. Our second day up there we drove even further North to visit Pattison State Park (home of two waterfalls that look like beer because of the coloring in the water from the trees). In the background of some of the pictures you can see Big Manitou Falls and Little Manitou Falls. Kayla had a blast being able to run all over the place most of the day, although she had to navigate a lot of steps. And yes, Kayla is trying to eat some bark in front of Little Manitou Falls.
