Summer at the Pool

We finally decided to join our neighborhood pool this year. It opened a week early before Memorial Day and we have been there several times already. Kayla loves hanging out in the kiddie pool and playing with the assorted water toys laying around. We had pizza and movie night at the pool and although we ended up not watching the movie, Kayla had a lot of fun playing with her friend Simon from Milwaukee.

Week 4

Week 4 brought Mommy's first few days alone with the kids while Daddy was back at work. Fortunately the weather was a little better so some extra outside time made things go a little smoother. Amber continues to sleep about 3-4 hours at a time during the night for the most part so sleeping hasn't been too terrible. She is also working on a tight little grip as she likes to grab onto things when she is being held. Kayla splits her time between "playing" with her little sister and making her Daddy and unsuspecting visitors chase her around the house pretending to be cowboys/girls. She has also become a big fan of bridges so Daddy took her to play around the bridges at the Castle Creek Conservancy in Waunakee after tumbling class on Saturday morning. She was also pretty exciting to try out her new rainboots.

Week 3

The weather was pretty lousy during week 3 of Amber's life so we were relegated to spending a lot of time inside. Grandma Czar had to fly back to Cleveland midway through the week so mommy and daddy were on their own again. Amber's umbilical cord fell off so we were able to do her first bath in the baby tub. Kayla and Amber enjoyed some quality sister time while we were cooped up inside.

I'm 2 weeks old!!

Amber is now two weeks old. She is getting along very well with her sister and is still sleeping well most nights. At her two week Dr appt she was 8 lbs 14 oz so the Dr was very happy with her weight gain. She is currently in the 69%ile for weight and we are wondering if she will stay there as she grows or if she will drop way down to the 10-20%ile like her "big" sister. One of the most exciting moments of week 2 was meeting Grandma Czar for the first time. Grandma flew in from Cleveland to spend a week+ with her granddaughters.
